Byron Bay
G'day,
Unfortunately I have to move on tomorrow to continue with my travels. Byron Bay is a great place and I could stay here a lot longer if I had the time. Since my last post I haven't done too much. On Wednesday I went out with Amy and Anna to Cheeky Monkeys, a pub that involves playing games for prizes and dancing on tables!! We had a great night and I was close to winning prizes. Thankfully the majority of the games involved choosing heads or tails in a coin flip and I managed to be 2nd quite a few times. Oh well, it was still good fun.
Today has been a rather busy day. I got up quite early and walked up to the lighthouse:

Amy with the Melbourne boys:
Thursday was spent looking round all the lovely shops and then going to the beach. I must say that I do love my tan at the moment! :p I also received all my Christmas presents and cards that had been sent. Thanks Debbie, Dad, G'ma, G'dad, Uncle Doug, Granny and Lucie. They eventually made their way round Australia to catch up with me!! I must say it was strange opening Christmas presents on the 1st Feb. That is what I get though for not staying in one hostel long enough to get mail sent on.Today has been a rather busy day. I got up quite early and walked up to the lighthouse:
and then to Australia's most easterly point:
Got lots of good photos too. Thankfully it was quite cloudy this morning, although that did not make great views it did make the walk very pleasant! After this I had my 3rd surf lesson. It was the most amazing lesson I have had. I even managed to stand up on the first wave! I feel I really got the hang of it today, although still very much a beginner and I had so much fun. I enjoyed it so much that I have booked a later bus for tomorrow so that I can have another lesson with these people tomorrow morning. They were really helpful and they had really nice boards. I now see the difference the boards can make. These ones seemed to let me wobble a bit more than the others!! They even had someone out in the water who took photos of us as we were surfing. The CD was rather expensive but there were some good photos and I doubt I will get the chance again of having someone so close taking so many photos. They also have some lovely Byron Bay photos as well on the CD so it will be a good memory to have. Hopefully I will get a chance to post some photos over the next week. After tomorrow I will be leaving the luxury of free internet so I am not sure when I will next be on here. Will try and keep you posted as much as I can.
Lots of love,
xxxx
