Byron Bay to Brisbane

Hi everyone,

As you can see I have managed to get lots of photos online. I hope this makes my blog more interesting for you!!

Well my last night in Byron Bay I went out to the Rails and then the Beach Hotel with Anna and her new man:
The Rails was a country style pub with a live band and was good fun. The Beach House also had a live band and was great fun too.
On my last morning in Byron Bay I had another surf lesson. It was amazing. I was managing to surf along the wave - sorry don't know all the surfing terms yet. :( I loved my surfing in Byron and would recommend anyone to go with Style Surfing in Byron Bay as they were great.

I then got an afternoon bus to Surfers Paradise. I have not heard many great reports about Surfers Paradise so I was not expecting much! However, I had a great time. On Sat night 7 hostels get together to go on a Party Bus and then a pub crawl! This was great as Amy and Amanda were staying in a different hostel so we managed to meet up through this:
I also met a lovely girl Sophie from my hostel and we had a great night:
To add to the surprise of me bumping into people I know, I bumped into Emma and Sarah from my training week I was on when I first came out here! They are now working in Surfers Paradise and happened to be in one of the pubs we were in!

On Sunday I wandered round Surfers Paradise and spent a bit of time at the beach. As you can see from the photo below, Surfers has skyscrapers on the beach:

Last night I went to the Australian Outback Spectacular Show. It was an amazing experience. We arrived there and got given our cowboy hats, depending which property you were to support depended whether you had a red or yellow band on your hat. I was part of the red property - can't actually remember the name of the station though. We then went through and got out photos taken before heading to the bar where they had Glenn Jones singing:The bar was all country style and had 4 horses in stables down one wall. We then went through to the arena for a 1hour 30mins display which was amazing. They showed us all the types of things that are done in the outback including mustering with a helicopter!! We also got a 3 course meal and free alcohol during the show. I was sitting next to a lovely family who have taken my number as they may be able to help me find work next month! :) The show was fantastic and I thoroughly recommend you all to go there. I just want to go out into the outback and start work now! If you want to find out more or see more photos click on the Outback Spectacular Show link on the right hand side of this page amongst the links to other peoples blogs.

This morning I left Surfers Paradise to come to Brisbane. I have met up with a German girl, Caroline, who was at the same hostel as me in Byron Bay. We have spent the afternoon looking round Brisbane. We had a lovely walk through the Botanic Gardens:

It is strange to think that 3 months have passed since I last did that walk, it feels like it was just last week! My time is passing so quickly out here. I think this month will pass even quicker as I am moving so quickly between places.

Hope you are all well and please keep the emails flowing!

Lots of love,

xxx
